  • Photoshop effects-only battle

    HOW
    Adobe Photoshop

    WHAT
    Create a cool piece of art out of an empty stage (at least 1280x1024 pixel)

    RULES
    you shall not import or open extern pictures
    you shall not draw (brush tool, rectangle tool,... are not allowed)
    the only tool you are allowed to use directly on the canvas (stage) is the marquee tool
    use filters, color effects, image adjustments, liquify, to create something cool

    WHEN

    soulty, for sure I am going to have to say that I think your "simpleone" is the best... It's just cool... and the subtle shadow is great... which isn't in the other ones(as far as I can tell)...

    Edit: woops! Didn’t read the rules enough, not sure if mine counts, text was used (I created the green text in a different 2d program, then imported the text and duplicated it etc. ) someone tell me if it counts.

  • I did create those out of nothing!!

    Try contrast clouds, then polar coordinates about six times, then render 3d in a tube + plus a color overlay for the wooden tube.....

    Then do contrast clouds, polar coordinates, cut a circle with the marquee, bevel emboss, solar flare and lighting effects plus render zig-zag for the weird looking thing thats kidna round (don't forgot the drop shadow).....

    I promise I ddint' import anything!:thumb:

  • To a point.. it really isn't fair... Because..

    a) You could've checked out all the competition and made something that you know would beat everything

    b) Most of us place it the images right at the deadline for a specific purpose.

    But... As how I see that you soulty... Don't typically do that... I'm all for ok'ing them into the battle entries.

    But I hope everyone see's my point to a reason.

    I'd almost say.. The fairest way.. Is to have everyone vote on it... I mean.. I'm perfectly fine with it. :thumb: from me.. But you never know if someone on here might be slightly peeved at it :D But.. Great entries none the less soulty.. And I hope you aren't disappointed by my reasoning.. :)

    Try to create some cool effects out of nothing (i.e. with render>clouds, blur them, cut them with the marquee tool, do some filters,...) :)

    Well yeah I guess... But assumedly we should have all made our best efforts(well kinda) anyways, and he probably would have too... I would think. So it shouldn't really matter who sees what.

    Although I do think it would be neat if we set up some sort of submission system where something could be submitted but everyone couldn't see it until after the due date.
