Why are Atheists on Religion and Spirituality if they aren't religious?
January 6th, 2009 - ccbilllog.com - editThey brighten this place up ya know.
Of all answers.
Atheists can be SPIRITUAL, you know.
And you don't have to follow a religion to discuss religion.
Oh I guess I missed the 'no atheists allowed' sign in front of this public forum.
If the religion section isn't the appropriate section to discuss my lack of belief in God then which section is?
Why are commoners in the Royalty section?
Why are stupid people in the Education section?
Why are humans in the Cat section?
Why are straight people in the LGBT section?
Why are overweight people in the Health section?
Why are bald people in the hair section?
I need a drink.

I am a pagan and a Taoist and an atheist. Don't forget that spirituality does not equal religion. And not all spiritual philosophies involve a deity. Think outside the box.
Aside from that, I actually am interested in the things Christians in particular say to try to convert people, because I have children and I fully expect Christian children to say these things to them when they find out my kids aren't Christian (it happened to me when I was younger, and oddly enough still happens).
So, I want to have thought about the Christian point of view and their arguments, so I can give a well-thought-out response to my children. I want to be able to clearly articulate what I think, because my ability to answer their questions may be important in my having credibility with my own children.
So I've been in forums like this for years now, and I'm really glad I did. Not only has it driven me further from Christianity than I ever thought I could be, but I think I can explain my views very well to my children, when they ask. I'm even keeping file of FAQ's.
Atheism is a position on religion. Where should we discuss that if not the R&S board?
In my point of view, I do not understand why Christianity is dicussed here. I would say that it belongs on the Mythology & Folklore board.
Drink up to this drink question.
Margarita please!

By the way, please go back 3 pages of questions and count how many questions are directed solely to atheists, including this one!
And I'm agnostic.

It begs a larger question, why would any God-fearing Christian want to discourage atheists from visiting this section? Isn't that the opposite of what you'd want? Shouldn't you be "opening my eyes to the Truth"?
Alternate answer: At one time we didn't come here. Then some of you believers declared atheism to be a religion, so now we feel compelled to come here.
is like we could say why are other bielfs in here religion is a belief atheist have a bielief that god doesn't exsist
The Cats forum people are happy to be rid of us.
For me personally, it's because I don't want to be held accountable for my actions, and apparently according to Christians, if I deny the existence of God, I can have as much sex as I want (though all of this drinking is kinda putting a crimp on that).
-Laptop Jesus, Potterific-
We asked this in the Cats/NASCAR section, and they kicked us out.
